I immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico when I was 8 years old , and became a U.S. citizen in 1986. I was lucky enough to marry my best friend, John, in 1988. Together we are proud parents to two married sons, and I'm Oma to four precious grandchildren. In 1989, Me and my husband started JW&T, Inc.—a company specializing in both residential and commercial construction.
Throughout the years I've served on various boards in Seminole, including the Chamber of Commerce and the hospital board. In 2015, I had the great honor of being named Seminole, TX' citizen of the year! And hardly a day goes by that I don't tell someone how proud I am to be an American!
I believe you need to look back and learn from the past, that way you can be more prepared for the future. So I work hard everyday trying to make history as accessible and easy to understand not just from the comfort of the museum I founded and run, but also through my books that tell wild true stories of the Mennonites, the Comanches, and the trials they both had to go through to survive the early west!
